SFUA CLUB APPOINTED UMPIRE PROGRAM
The SFUA Club Appointed Umpire Program aims to support each Sunraysia Football Netball League (SFNL) club with the development and mentoring of their club-based volunteers who assist with officiating games throughout the season.
Club Appointed umpires will complete a basic umpiring course and be supported by the Club Umpire Ambassador and senior SFUA umpire mentors throughout the season. Members of this program will maintain their ability to support their club while assisting in officiating games that may not be covered by SFUA official umpires. They will also be rewarded for their commitment and time by being a paid at the same rate as an SFUA umpire for their nominated games.
How to become a Club Accredited Umpire:
Click here to complete your online registration as a Club Appointed Umpire.
Click here and select AFL Umpire Introductory Course.
Add to cart and follow the steps to complete the course. The course costs $15 and takes about 30-40 minutes to complete.
NB: Once this is completed, all club umpires need to ensure that they print the Statement of Attainment Certificate and keep a copy – this will also need to be handed in to the SFUA.
3. Attend SFUA Practical Session
After completing the Online theory component, all Club Appointed umpires will be required to attend an SFUA training session where they can be coached and assessed for basic Field umpire signals, positioning and how to match day paperwork. This session will take 2 hours.
Once this session has been completed, the attendee will qualify to be officially appointed as a Club Appointed Umpire for their nominated club and age group (pending that the SFUA are unable to fulfill this appointment with SFUA based officials).
All club appointed umpires will be supported throughout the season by the SFUA Coaching Panel and will invited to attend a monthly lecture and training session at the SFUA Clubrooms.
